Featuring sea views, this stylish family owned boutique hotel is made up of two historic buildings. Originally a pair of warehouses, this stunning Nordic design renovated Art Nouveau-style hotel sits right above the town’s main waterway by the Ålesund Strait.

The classic building’s wood beams and original architecture remain in place, updated with contemporary interiors and cosy furniture. You will fall in love the moment you walk through the entrance to see the lobby fireplace – an incredible centrepiece warmly inviting you to stay.

The guestrooms and suites all have their own unique style, with no two rooms the same. Varying in size, some feature water views whilst others overlook the surrounding city. Be aware that guests with dogs are not permitted to stay in the Suites.

For a truly unique experience you can stay in the Molja Lighthouse – room 47. A five-minute walk from the main hotel, it sits at the end of the city jetty. In both rough weather and clear blue skies, for more than one and a half centuries the lighthouse has guided ships into the safe harbour and nowadays the Hotel Brosundet offers this exclusively unique opportunity for you to enjoy. Naturally, the speciality the hotel restaurant Apotekergata No. 5 is seafood. Focussed on what the catch of the day might be, the creative menu offers dishes inspired by unique local produce from the fjords, the sea, the garden and the fields. Beer-steamed mussels and Japanese-style salmon are favourites.
