Whilst the oldest sections of the hotel date back to the 1840s, the most iconic section, designed by architect Onni Tarjanne, was completed in 1890. Tarjanne is best known for designing the Finnish National Theatre in 1902.

Located right next to the Old Church Park in the heart of Helsinki city centre, the hotel is part of the Nordic Hotels & Resorts group, and officially opened its doors the 2nd of May 2018 in Yrjönkatu 13. A full service luxury hotel, it offers on-site dining, an in-house bakery and stylish rooms.

The glass-covered Wintergarden Bar in the heart of the hotel is a perfect place to enjoy a drink.

The Kamppi district of Helsinki was the central hub of the Finnish printing industry in the mid-19th century. In 1871, the printing house of the Finnish Literature Society moved to the corner of Lönnrotinkatu and Yrjönkatu, the address of today’s Hotel St. George.
