Respecting the history of the place, this contemporary interior has been cleverly designed to create a contrast with the bourgeois stones of the century-old building. The Nobis Hotel Stockholm is a destination venue that feels both luxurious and low-key.

The building in which the hotel was established, achieved a certain notoriety with its extraordinary past. The Kreditbanken formerly occupied the ground floor of the building, and was where the term “Stockholm syndrome” was coined in 1973. Four hostages were taken during a bank robbery. The hostages defended their captors after being released and would not agree to testify in court against them. Much of the original hotel’s interior, like the former bank conference rooms panelled in dark oak and ornate stucco, is under the watchful eye of the Swedish National Heritage Board.

All rooms have views of the city or the hotel’s atrium, and bathrooms are decorated in floor-to-ceiling Carrara marble. The lounge is an outstanding feature of the hotel, with its lofted cathedral-like high ceiling.

Stockholm’s legendary Italian restaurant NOI serves modern dishes with influences from all over Europe in an elegant setting designed by Wingårdhs architects. Traditional, rustic Italian dishes are served in Bistro Bino. The Gold Bar is decorated entirely with golden mirrors and serves a variety of classic as well as new and innovative cocktails. Stockholm is a walkable city, and you’ll enjoy the pet friendly atmosphere as you visit the impressive landmarks. The hotel’s central location gives you the advantage of walking to the Strand, The Old Town, the New Town, and being the middle of Stockholm’s main shopping district and restaurants. The popular Stureplan nightclub area is a 3-minute walk away, while the Royal Dramatic Theatre is located 200 m from Nobis.
