Forty minutes drive west of Lisbon is the coastal town of Cascais. For decades the charming luxury Albatroz hotel has been the most chic hotel in town. Dating back to 1873, the main building of the hotel, Duke of Loulé’s Palace, then known as “Almond Box”, was home of several royal families until the 1960s when it opened it’s doors to the public for the first time with the name ‘Estalagem Albatroz’, with just 11 rooms, one dining room, a bar and a nice lawn.

Acquired by the Albatroz group in 1982, the hotel was completely renovated and remodelled over a period of 18 months. The hotel now offers 45 guestrooms and six suites and has kept the architectural trace and the natural beauty of the three different buildings that compose it, combining comfort with modern contemporary luxury.

Guests can relax in the individually themed rooms, which are all different, both in shape and size, overlooking the bay, the picturesque Cascais or the garden or pool, and can be situated in either the new or in the historic wing of the building. An elegant décor, the Albatroz provides a wicker basket with towels, to use at the beach or the pool.

A short 2-minute walk from Cascais Station and 14 minutes’ walk from Cascais Marina. Popular Cascais Beach is at a 5-minute walk away, where guests will be able to enjoy the sun or a refreshing swim. The Albatroz Hotel is located less than 17 km from scenic Sintra and a 30-minute drive from Lisbon. Portela International Airport is 35 km away.
