Tuscany
The Italian countryside is unbeatable…. So surround yourself with olive trees and epic views in one of Tuscany’s prettiest rural luxurious retreats and you’ll see that discovering the beauty of the Fonteverde is even better with your four legged friend.
This exclusive resort, a member of the Leading Hotels of the World, was originally constructed in the 17th century as one of the Medici villas, and is now renowned as a therapeutic retreat into nature.
Born from a Renaissance portico built in 1607 by the Grand Duke Ferdinando I de Medici, Fonteverde sits in front of San Casciano dei Bagni, a charming medieval village in the Sienese hills. Steeped in history and tradition, Fonteverde and its park are a true homage to the Renaissance.
The beautifully renovated guestrooms exude charm and elegance. Everything originates from the Tuscan tradition, from the Tuscan art on the walls, to the decorations inspired by nature paired perfectly with the splendid lateral views of the Val d’Orcia hills and Mount Amiata.
The Ferdinando I Restaurant offers an excellent menu, extraordinary wine list and sublime views overlooking the Val d’Orcia to complete the creative culinary experience, inspired by Tuscan and Mediterranean traditions. Relax on the terrace for breakfast and lunch at the elegant La Corte restaurant or you can indulge in a culinary journey through the heart of Tuscany with food and wine tasting sessions or an authentic aperitif served at the spectacular Il Falconiere Bar.
Beyond the gourmet experiences, craft shops, medieval towns, and antique markets, Fonteverde is best known for its thermal spas, with waters rich in fluorine, magnesium, and sulphur, as well as for its own wellness philosophy named Equilibrium, for diet, body, and soul. The property also boasts a private chapel that was originally built in the 11th century.
The medieval village of Pitigliano, one of the most visited and historically important towns in the world, and is less than an hour’s drive from the resort.
However, the wide green areas and nature trails are perfect for walks and runs with your dog, as well as exploring the rolling countryside of Val D’Orcia.
You will be overwhelmed by the beautiful location, the breath taking views, the exceptional facilities, the very warm, welcoming and attentive staff who will ensure you stay at this sublime hotel is nothing but remarkable for you and your four legged friend.
